Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It is the capital city of the Czech Republic, and features some of the most historic buildings in all of Europe. Historically, Prague has been the center of many battles.

During the Second World War, the Germans laid siege to the city and eventually captured it. However, as they were driven out of the city, they left behind a lot of memorabilia. The wartime museums in Prague are some of the finest in the world. However, if you are planning a trip here, you should know of a few things to do in Prague. Here are a few:

The Prague Astronomical Clock

One of the best things that you can do is to visit the Prague Astronomical Clock. In common tongue, it is known as the Prague orloj. It is the third oldest astronomical clock in the world, having been installed back in 1410. It is also the oldest clock still in working condition.

The Astronomical Clock in Prague gives you a unique peek in to the past. It features many faces, all of which combine together to not only tell the time, but also the position of the stars and planets.

Visit the Strahov Monastery

Of all the things to do in Prague, visiting the Strahov Monastery should be at the top of your list. The monastery is one of the oldest in the world, having been founded back in 1143.

The library in the monastery features books dating back hundreds of years, and it gives you an idea of how the city has changed during the ages. Journals written by historians detailing wars, the development of the city and the disastrous effects of the wars can be found in the library.



The Dancing House

The Dancing House is an architectural wonder. The design of the original building was approved in 1992 and construction was completed in 1996. If you are in Prague, be sure to take a look at this building. The dancing house stands apart from the conventional architectural themes that you will find in Prague. It is located on a riverfront plot, on the Rasinovo Nabrezi.
