The Holocaust Memorial is of course one of the most well-known historical monuments in Berlin. It offers a touching tribute to the Jewish plight during the Holocaust. The memorial is part of several walking tours of Berlin—but you can also choose to attend on your own.
Another site of historical importance is the memorial of the Berlin Wall. This is an important symbol of the Cold War era. You can visit on your own or take a guided tour. Some tours even include narration by living witnesses of the Cold War.
